O.K., there is a reason I don’t have children. O.K., there are many reasons but one of them is that I really am not an appropriate adult role model.
What to do with the family dog once everyone has recovered from saying good-bye? Well, pretty soon nobody even sees that box with the ashes of Scruffy, it just sits and gathers dust while everyone plays with the new dog.
I combined Sadie’s ashes with an acrylic gel, took the tag, paw print they made and said, “The next feather that ends up on the patio will go into the painting.” About an hour later, sure enough there was a feather on the patio. She would have barked at that feather for 30 minutes. I used a photo of her to create her silhouette. Actually, her vet loved it.
I just think it is more of a remembrance than ashes in a box, sort of a Phoenix Rising from the ashes. I know some might find it creepy.

Def. not creepy! A tribute, remembrance, a creative work. It’s wonderful.
I agree with dear Elena, this is so creative and so beautiful. And not creepy! This is eternal touches by your creative mind. Thanks and Love, nia
thank you nia, maybe other creative people do see it the way i do.
I don’t find it creepy at all, art. I think it is a creative and a very special way to keep Sadies ashes.
Thank you! I am surprised with the support I am getting for this idea, I am so glad I posted it.
